I don’t take back my recommendation for Vectornator Pro for free for iPad, it’s really quite good. If you have any doubts about how capable it is, I put a screenshot of one of the sample drawings into the shownotes with one of the layers opened up so you’d believe me! This is an amazing steal for such a phenomenally capable program. The list price for Affinity Designer for iPad is $20 but it’s 30% off for the launch. My excuses are starting to dry up, because this week the fine folks at Serif, who make the Affinity products, came out with Affinity Designer for iPad. The other thing that was holding me back was that it wasn’t available for the iPad, which is the most natural place to draw, especially with Apple Pencil. I haven’t talked about it too much because I’m not good enough at doing vector design to teach anyone else about it. Think Adobe Illustrator except much less expensive and no subscription. And with our library of templates, it's easy to design projects directly for the devices you intend them to be viewed on.You know I’m a huge fan of Affinity Photo, the Photoshop replacement for the Mac (and Windows) and iOS. You'll have all the tools you need at your disposal for free! Plus, with features like Vectornator's Quick Actions bar, you'll be able to work up to 30% faster than in other vector design platforms. If vector editing is what you need, look no further than Vectornator. It just depends on your use case - whether you need something like Adobe Photoshop for photo editing and working on raster images for social media (check out Gimp and its many plugins) or something like Affinity Designer or Adobe Illustrator to edit vector shapes and images, such as logos and typography. Whether you're on iOS, Linux, or Windows, you'll be able to find an open-source or free graphic design platform if you look hard enough. Unfortunately, Affinity Designer doesn't have a free version.
